Stone Grinding – Precision surface finishing for demanding applications

At Technoplating Group, stone grinding is one of the many high-precision surface treatments we offer to meet the strict requirements of modern industry. This mechanical process delivers exceptional roundness, tight tolerances and refined surface textures — ideal for components where accuracy and consistency are non-negotiable.

With a grinding capacity of up to Ø1000 mm in diameter and 7000 mm in length, we can handle even the largest and most complex workpieces with consistent precision. Whether it’s a final finishing step or preparation for a coating process, stone grinding ensures a reliable and high-quality result every time.

What is Stone Grinding?

Stone grinding is a mechanical surface finishing process that uses a rotating grinding wheel — to precisely remove material from the surface of a workpiece. Unlike conventional machining, this method enables extremely smooth surfaces and tight dimensional tolerances. It is particularly suited for hard metals and wear-resistant coatings and is commonly applied to components that require:

❖   Cylindrical surfaces

❖   Specific tolerances

❖   Consistent layer thickness

❖   Optimal surface preparation for coatings like nickel-hardchrome and laser cladding

Stone grinding not only enhances surface quality but also improves adhesion properties and overall performance of the treated part.
